Alex Dinh

Graduate Teaching Consultant

Hi everybody! I am very excited to meet and learn from all of you. My name is Alex! I am a graduate student in the department of history. In my spare time, I love discussing life, ideas, and passions with loved ones over milk tea. My solitary hobbies include writing letters to dear friends, playing sports, planning educational adventures to museums or historical sites, and laughing like a fool. I have so much to learn about education and teaching, so I am looking forward to this extraordinary experience!

Before coming to UC San Diego, I graduated with a B.S. in physiological science from UCLA. Shortly after, the honor of my life was teaching Physiology and IB Biology at Downtown Business Magnet, a Title 1 urban high school in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. During my brief 8-year career, I completed a masters in education with a specialization in urban education from UCLA and chaired the science department for 2 years. Perhaps the most significant achievement, was being able to help young Latinx and newly-immigrated students achieve their vision of success; work I love and plan to resume after this UC San Diego adventure.
